1080p
Simply put, 1080p is a level of hi-def - full hi-def, actually. It means that there are 1,080 lines of vertical resolution on your television screen. And because of its 16x9 widescreen ratio, there are 1,920 horizontal pixels. The "p" stands for progressive scan (opposed to "i" in 1080i, which stands for interlaced).
A 1080p picture delivers exceptional resolution without unwanted flickering or blurring. It's the highest resolution format on the market. When you're watching a full 1080p picture, every single frame is as crisp, clear, and colorful as an HD still photograph. Just remember, to take full advantage of your LCD's 1080p capabilities, you'll need a 1080p signal source like HD cable or an HD DVD.
