Mounting a TV
Our LCD HDTVs have a cool factor that's immeasurable. But thanks to their thinness, there's at least one thing that can be measured - the amount of space they add to a room. That saved space is exactly why so many people choose to wall-mount their LCDs. Every LCD we make is VESA compliant. That means they use the industry standard mounting system. But how do you actually go about mounting your LCD?
The single best way to mount an LCD is to follow the instructions included in the mounting kit you purchase at your local dealer. But we'd be happy to provide some general tips designed to make wall mounting your LCD a success.
Basically, it all comes down to choosing the right spot.
Before you commit to mounting your LCD in a specific space, tack a similarly sized piece of paper or cardboard to the wall for a trial run. Is it too high? Is it comfortable to view from your favorite chair? Most people prefer watching television at eye level when seated.
Another consideration is lighting. Many people prefer not to mount their LCDs on walls opposite windows. It can create a glare. Of course, if you're only watching television at night, this might not be a concern for you.
And lastly, remember there's nothing more frustrating than mounting your LCD, then realizing you're too far away from the plug in. Be sure to mount the LCD near power and signal source outlets.
