Widescreen

Today's HD programming is almost exclusively shot in 16x9 format, more commonly known as "widescreen." It's the standard for movies, DVDs, and HD programming from satellite and cable providers. So, not surprisingly, every model in our lineup is also a widescreen.

Widescreen formats let you appreciate the entire picture, just as the director intended. It makes epics more epic, and panoramas more panoramic.

Of course, if you choose to watch standard definition programming (also known as 4:3 ratio), you'll be able to. You'll simply see vertical black bars on the sides of the screen. You're not missing any of the picture, it's simply the byproduct of a different aspect ratio.
